Solar Initiatives in Delhi and Haryana

Posted on Posted in Electrical, Study Material

Ministry of environment and ministry of renewable energy has taken initiatives to increase the solar power generation in India. In Haryana, it is now mandatory (from September 2015) to install roof top solar plant for every building premises which is built on equal to or more than 500 sq yards. The size of the solar plant depends on the load of the entire building. i.e. 5% of the total load. (A fine of 10000 to 1000000 can be charged against failure of the same)

It is being planned to install and produce 2 GW solar power in Delhi NCR region by 2025. The first phase of installation is targeted to be complete by 2019 for 1 GW solar electricity.

Delhi metro rail has signed an MOU recently with SECI to install a 500 kWp solar plant in the existing metro stations in Delhi. DMRC has lowered down the city’s pollution level by cutting a 6 lakh tons of emission of polluting gases.

  1. The approx cost of 1 KW solar power plant starts from INR 90,000 to INR 2,70,000/-. But you can avail financial assistance from state and central govt. schemes to promote solar energy. They might help you with 30-40% of the total installation cost. It varies with state to state and the Govt. program time to time. I am putting in more details on my next post on solar system in this website. You can read more details there.
